What this policy covers
This policy covers the Clip Bot Windows application and Clip Bot website. Websites and services you open through Clip Bot have their own privacy policies. It describes current features; a planned integration does not collect social account permissions until it is available and you authorize it.
Recordings and local processing
Clip Bot stores imported recording references, captured footage, clips, thumbnails, transcripts, creator settings, and editing information on your PC. Highlight analysis, motion checks, optional speech transcription, captions, and bleeping run locally. These features do not send your recordings or transcripts to OpenAI or another cloud AI service for analysis.
Live capture contacts the streaming service you select. Installing models and checking or downloading updates contacts the relevant download service. Those services receive normal connection information such as your IP address. If you send us a clip or log for support, we also receive what you choose to send.
Website accounts, access, and purchases
- Sign-in: Clerk handles account authentication and related profile information, including information supplied during sign-in. Clip Bot uses your account identifier to associate access with your account.
- Licensing: Our service stores access-key identifiers and hashes, redemption and expiration records, device names you provide, device-token hashes, activation times, and recent access-check times. The desktop stores its device credential locally.
- Payments, when enabled: Stripe handles checkout and payment details. Clip Bot stores payment or subscription identifiers, customer identifiers, plan, status, and access dates. Clip Bot does not receive your full card number from Stripe.
- Supporter codes, when used: We record referral relationships, qualifying purchase references, reward balances, and redemptions to administer discounts and reverse invalid rewards.
- Operations: Website hosting and security services process request information, which may include IP address, browser information, timestamps, and error logs. We also keep limited request-count and billing-event records for security and reliable processing.
Cookies and account connections
Account authentication uses cookies or similar session storage. Social upload windows and your normal browser can have separate login sessions, managed by the platform. Clearing or signing out of one does not necessarily clear the other. The current website does not include an advertising tracker configured by Clip Bot.
The current social workflow opens official upload pages. The platform receives your login information directly and receives a video when you select and submit it. Clip Bot does not treat a website login as permission for automatic posting. If direct social connections are introduced, their authorization flow will describe the permissions and data needed before you connect.
Why information is used and shared
Information is used to provide requested features, authenticate accounts, check access, handle payments and rewards, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and maintain security. Our service providers include Clerk, Netlify, and, when checkout is enabled, Stripe. Videos you submit to a social platform are handled under that platform's policies.
We do not sell your recordings or use them to train a cloud AI model. Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate privacy obligations.
Retention and deletion
The application normally retains the latest 50 temporary clips, removing the oldest unprotected clips as new ones arrive. Favorites, manually kept or edited clips, and clips protected by upload records can remain longer. Source-footage cleanup is separate from clip cleanup. Exported copies and original imported files are not automatically deleted with a clip. Back up content you want to keep.
Cloud account, licensing, payment, referral, and security records are retained as needed for the service, accounting, dispute resolution, and legal requirements. There is not currently a single automatic deletion period for all these records. Service providers may retain their own records and backups under their policies.
You can delete local clips and revoke device access through available controls. Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of account data. We may need to verify ownership and retain records required by law. Uninstalling the desktop app does not automatically delete a website account or cancel a subscription. Deleting a local clip does not remove a post from a social platform.
Security, location, and your choices
We use measures including authenticated connections, hashed access credentials, and operating-system-protected storage for supported desktop secrets. No system is completely secure. Hosting and service providers may process information outside your country.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of certain personal information, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or complain to a privacy authority. Contact us to exercise applicable rights. We will assess requests under the laws that apply to you.
Children and policy changes
Clip Bot is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the service, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Social platforms may impose additional age requirements.
We will update this page when practices change and provide additional notice when required. Materially different uses of information will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
